The check in line was going ridiculously slowly and at some point turned threw my hands up in frustration while looking around to find another place to check in. In doing so, I catch the eye of the behind me. He smiles and says something. I just sort of nod and carry on with my call. I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.

Is it normal for a Product Owner to lay out specs for how a feature should work?

I thought that was my job as the ux designer to figure out the best way to solve a need. But I’m getting handed projects where the PO, and sometimes the senior designer has laid out exactly what should happen (components used, flow, etc) to design a feature. It’s really frustrating because I don’t know if I’m supposed to be speaking up on what I think or just do the UI work I’m asked to.

I have a $1200 stipend for learning at my work - Any suggestions from fellow Product Designers for recommendations?

I’m thinking so far about a UX writing course since we don’t have writers and I dictate the copy for elements as the designer.

I am product designer with a fair amount of experience (6yrs).

Recently was interviewed for a Sr. role in Booking but unfortunately the team finds me better suited as a core individual contributor.

I am also in the advanced stages of some lead designer positions in other companies.

However I am really interested in joining the team at Booking, especially because of the design culture.

What should be my reasons to accept or not accept the offer from booking?

I’m a product designer with about 5+ YOE I’m exploring courses/programs that one could take up as a mid career professional. I have a keen interest in Service Design, Behavioural Sciences, Design Research but not very sure about the opportunities. At the same time I’m open to exploring Product Mgmnt and Data science as along with design. Any recommendations?
PS: I already have a Masters in design.
