But I think nowadays service based companies are paying more than services based.
Actually Tiaa global business services is product based company but not even ready to match the offer. Before interview they are ready to give package but once interview get cleared they will not ready to pay package based on your expectation.

Why doesn’t everyone just tell each other what they make? Not sure why there’s such a stigma and it would increase bargaining power when asking HR for a raise.
Glassdoor is an ok start but there’s not enough data to get meaningful results
But if everyone have the starting their starting salary and level it would probably give the employee more leverage
A1: because comp isn’t fully merit based. if you knew your peer’s salary, you would then see who got a larger raise (which would be based on a better rating, assuming you all started at the same base pay as campus hires). you could then argue that Suzy Q or Johnny S didn’t deserve a 1 (while you got a 2, 3, etc) and complain that they have more than you ... which is what the firm is trying to avoid.
C-SC range at D is 80-150k
