Yes many people do that but they often have to quit their job to do the internship so make sure it is worth it.
I started my EMBA (same concept I think) in industry and transferred to consulting about 1/4 through. If it doesn’t interfere at all (my class’s were on weekends) not really something they need to know. Helped me get the job though since I was shifting career paths from federal LE.
If it does it’s a good idea to make them aware and put it on the resume and be ready to use some PTO when you have to.
Make sure your part time program doesn’t have summer classes. If you do good luck with an internship as well provided you don’t travel across the country for it
Yup I did this exact thing and succeeded. Like others have mentioned, be prepared to quit your full-time job to do the internship though. Some people even quit their full-time jobs during the actual recruiting season (typically second year for 3-year part-time programs, fall semester) to dedicate their full attention to networking and case prep.
OP without internships, recommend networking aggressively with all the forms your are interested in and start casing.
