What is the standard extra bonus for billing above target? Are firms generally similar in how they give extra comp to those who billed 2100, 2200, 2300?

Standard is $0.

V30 firm and we get an additional 5% of our class year market bonus for each 100 hours up to 2400. So 120% bonus at max

like

For context mine is an extra 10% per every 200 hours above target, however it’s very rigid (even if you’re an hour away).

At a V30 and get $0 extra despite billing well over 2100 every year.

Just as another datapoint, I am at Latham, and my bonus was 140% of market billing just shy of 2400 hours. But note our bonuses consider a combination of quality and quantity, and I believe I am in the top quality band (but haven’t yet had review this year, so can’t be 100% sure).

A5 is spot on. This happened to me at LW.

No bad reviews… ever… then blindsided with a single review that ascomm points to and says hmm, they said “room for improvement in area x”, overstates how bad that sounds to them, then says based on that, we think you deserve a “mixed” adjective and docks half your bonus despite a solid quality of work and despite making hours. It’s completely dishonest.

A4 that’s very much not true about rarity and how much it takes to get a mixed review. I think it does happen to folks that perform sub standard but it certainly also happens to people that don’t deserve it. Go check our LW bowl where there are a lot of people talking about this happening to them this year. Lmk if you need screenshots since you think it’s so rare…

We give a small bump (on the order of $5-10k) at each 100-hour level. Not an incentive to affirmatively go beyond but a small benefit if you have already hit the number (or at least that’s how I tell my associates to think about it). If someone goes really crazy (think 2500+ due to multiple trials), that gets treated separately.

Got zero at 2300

It’s funny because the more “prestigious” firms give you nothing extra. It’s the same amount regardless of hours.

Extra 5k every 100 hours over 2000
