What is the usual ramp-up time for those who've lateraled as a senior associate or counsel where you were not expected to bring clients with you? My only lateral move has been following another partner where a bunch of work came over with us, so I'm curious what a more typical lateral experience looks like in terms of staffing up.

I just applied for a Delta flight attendant role and my page glitched right in the middle of my application and now it says I’ve applied even though I didn’t finish answering questions. Has anyone else had this happen? So scared it has completely ruined my chances.

Why do many associates at top tier firms stay to make Partner when they can go in-house in tech and make around the same, even long term? For example, you can make near 400-550k in-house at Google, Netflix, FB with 8-10 years of exp. More senior than that in-house, it can easily break $1M.

People who don’t submit their time daily, how do you remember what you did and for how long? I’ve always just submitted each timer as soon as I finish a task—“call with x re y” really doesn’t take that long even if I’m busy, and if I don’t do it immediately I’ll forget all those little I did in the morning by the time I go to bed. No shade at all to those with different systems, just genuinely curious because I see a lot about catching up at month end on here and I have no idea how that works??
