What kind of perks do you get at work? I've stayed in this company for 7 years and I have nothing to compare to. But I do love it here and it sounds like it's possibly better than most other companies people I know work in. My company really invests in our professional growth through sales training, mentorship, and conference attendance. We also get access to wellness programs, team outings, and recognition for top performers, which really keeps the team happy and connected. What about yours?

Sounds like you have it really good. We have none of this and I'm starting to think that I really need to move out of here and look for something else. We do have trainings though, but it's always some srot of mandatory video course that adds no real value to our careers.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin. I'm a reporter with more than 32 years of experience and I feel that, lately, local television news has been kind of dead, but I am pleased to fight for it from my local newspaper. Locals love to see someone from their own town succeeding or finding out something inspiring.

I am a firm believer that this will not change for a long time, local TV will continue to live as long as we stand for it.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

Curious to hear how others create a SOW for a video where the concept isn’t created yet. e.g. a startup asks for a proposal/estimate for a 60-second brand video with little input and a vague budget range. We’ll create the concept and produce it. My Co. seems to have challenges with getting the SOW right: either goes very basic or doesn’t scope enough because creative development is baked in but eats up time. How do you do it?

Anyone else in “I’ll do my job description and nothing more” mode? I’ve gone above and beyond for my company for a while, and all I got was my quarterly bonuses and remote work taken away without explanation. I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
