What kind of skills, traits and/or behaviors have you shown at a job that got you a promotion? I look at some LinkedIn profiles and see that they’ve been promoted after less than a year and I always wonder how they present themselves and what am I doing differently?

I’m currently a quality control analyst in the biopharma/gene therapy field making 72k base in the Houston area. I’ve been working here for 2 years and my company is well established and the job is easy, but I honestly just want higher pay. I see companies (smaller and larger) that potentially can give me that but would it be worth it? I’m having a hard time finding out what opportunities/paths I can take and what amount of $ would be worth moving jobs for. Any insight is appreciated!

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

I’ve been out of work for a significant amount of time due to Covid decimating my industry. I’ve gone on many interviews and had a few final rounds. I finally received an offer today. The pay is more than I’ve ever made & team seems great. I just can’t help but feel a little disappointed bc it’s not the industry I was in before which was the whole reason I went to law school to begin with. been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Is it true that Recruiters and ECDs don’t consider creatives with Healthcare / Pharma experience when they apply for Consumer jobs? Have any of you worked in FM and then started practicing HIV medicine? I am working toward an AAHIVS credential, but am wondering if I need to leave my current practice vs try to incorporate treatment where I am. No one else treats HIV in my clinic currently, and PAs in my clinic are not currently paneled but I have a lot of autonomy in my team despite technically seeing patients with an MD listed as PCP

How do I alleviate knee pain in my back knee while doing lunges? Woke up this morning and tried to do yoga but in moving from downward dog to crescent with my left foot forward, my right knee started twinging badly enough to stop moving. I’m early 20s, healthy with no injuries but generally have issues with stuff like jump lunges. The knee feels fine while just standing, it’s when it’s locked out with weight on it that it hurts.

There is no other word to describe not going onsite as a team other than “grieving.” My producers have had to almost entirely change their skillset to video production instead of event production.
