What notifications do you have turned on in your phone settings? And how do you manage notification interruptions?

I have text and phone calls notifications on, but my volume is turned off so it is only a visual notice. I don’t have notifications for anything else. If I want to check emails or apps, I have to open them up to see if anything new is happening.

I started doing this about 4 years ago when o had a major surgery and was having issues unplugging as I recovered. Once I turned off the constant notifications, I was able to unplug and get my rest. I enjoyed it so much I never went back!

I have text and phone, volume off. I have my bank set to text me. If I have to step away midday and have a few open convos I’ll turn on Teams alerts and then immediately turn back off

Constantly bewildered people don’t do this

Text, calls, facebook. I'm not super social so it's fine. The texts get to be a bit much when I'm chatting back and forth over the course of an hour or whatever.

I manage by specifically turning off certain notifications, like email.

I use the Do Not Disturb for 1-2 hours during important meetings.

I live my phone at home or on the other room when I can (usually working out).

I have airpods and the ding is distracting (is it a text from a friend or a text for a bill payment) but I usually forget about it after a minute.

I limit social media apps to 30 minutes a day so I don’t get notifications after I spend 30 minutes scrolling. I keep my work emails on (I hate myself) and texts/calls. But I also have my “bedtime” set so after 10 and before 7 I don’t see my notifications.

Thanks for the comments. I went cold turkey last week and am now figuring out what is essential. Teams. Bank. Ring. ...

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what you make as a typical banquet/events manager for salary or per hour? I’ve worked for Marriott/Bonvoy at the Ritz and for the Curio Collection with Hilton as a bartender/server/banquets captain. Now I’m working for a privately owned hotel and as a manager role in Banquets/Events. Because of pandemic times, what is everyone else making?

Tough time getting past final step: I’ve been trying to make a career shift for 10 months now and continue to get rejected at the last step. Im confident in the value I can provide and do well at presenting it. However, once it’s comes down to me and 1-2 other candidates, I repeatedly have been turned down for the person who has more relevant experience as they’re a safer bet for the employer. Would love advice from anyone who’s dealt with this before. It’s tough to get them to take a risk on me
