What state do you live in? Do you feel that it’s vet-friendly? Why or why not? Super curious to hear how this varies across the US.

Kentucky, very much so!

South Carolina, and no. Texas was much more Vet friendly IMHO. SC and NC have a long way to go.

I don't think you can really identify states that are generally not veteran friendly. Laws may vary on degrees of veteran support but I'd be surprised to hear of any legal discrimination. I'm sure there are pockets of anti-veteran sentiment but these would be small local areas (Berkeley, CA? Just guessing). But most of the country is veteran friendly.

CO- extremely vet friendly

I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Hey all. I and some coworkers are reservists. We are trying to get the reserve leave policy more in line with other NYC bank's and consulting firms, as the bank does almost the bare minimum for userra. For those of you who got out at 10, do you wish that you rode it out to 20? I’m at a crossroad and I’m not sure what to do. Have some active/reserve time, wrapping up graduate school, and am now considering either a) come back to the business world or b) go active and retire before 50 and live off a nice pension. Obviously there are draws to both. I’m an officer for what it’s worth so I can realistically retire at O-5, MAYBE O-6.
