What type of school do you work at? Public? Private? Homeschooling CoOp? How do you feel that impacts you as an educator and as a Christian, and the roles you can/cannot/do/do not play in the classroom?

What do you do when you need a sub? What kinds of plans work best for subs in the Spanish classroom? I have needed subs lately and have found it hard to plan lessons that aren’t just busy work.

My concern is that here in Indiana, I have taught in 3 different districts over 21 years in traditional high schools & have not ever had a student teacher or Practicum observer in my computer lab classroom. The last school I left for my current career center dropped the computer science courses I spent 10 years building and refining all together. No qualified CTE teachers available. 🤷‍♂️

How do you set up your classroom? What can you tell me about how often you use instruments? What do you do to make them accessible? Thanks so much.

Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!

I’m accustomed to keeping my students’ IEP folders in my classroom & being held responsible for their safekeeping. Now in a new district, I found that the Case Manager keeps all district IEPs in her office. We have to submit our updates & progress notes to her. And we have to make a planning period appointment with her to come look at any IEP folders. How does your district deal with IEP folder custody?

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! Even in the Christian world, we can learn from secular teachers and scholars who have familiarized themselves with Biblical principles, even if they do not realize it. Who are some of these that you follow? Do you follow them often or sporadically? Currently I'm listening to the Jordan Peterson podcasts....www.jordanbpeterson.com/podcast/. Lots of great information from this psychologist who eventually found Christ. He has several audio books out as well. Worth your time to listen IMO...

Has anyone here used the "Read Scripture" app? It goes through the entire Bible and includes accompanying summary videos from "The Bible Project" (whose videos can also be found on YouTube). I love how it groups portions of Scripture and the videos are helpful for making meaningful connections with the text. I love these for myself, but they're super kid-friendly, too. Excellent support for your daily study. Enjoy!

Does anyone know where to start to get 10 commandments back in our local schools. I feel everyone would benefit from this? Just my opinion. We need to bring God back into our country.

I recently discovered the "Just Thinking" podcast, dealing with social and cultural issues through a Christian lense. Started with an episode recommended by a friend, then just HAD to go back to episode one and start listening all the way through. So appreciate the work the Lord is doing through these gentlemen.
