If you want to stay, start looking for relevant jobs in the market here. I would only move if I didn’t mind living in the new location and really wanted to stay with the current company.
The first issue I see is that they’re only paying you $56k as a Marketing Manager. The second issue is them changing their minds about you being able to work remotely, especially since you live across the country. Is there no possibility of continuing to work remotely and occasionally traveling to their HQ? Personally I wouldn’t move.
Nope. I’m not leaving unless I know that it’ll benefit me in the long run. I relocated from Arizona to Oregon because I knew it would help me land better jobs in Arizona in the future. Recruiters are already contacting me. It’s about time for me to come on home lol
If you enjoy the work, like the company and could see yourself living there, then why not? But if you have family here and are well established, I’d stay. Choose your ick- 120° summers or alligators & humidity?
I stayed in one job for too long before changing jobs and moving. I'm now 28 and having difficulty persuading myself that I could move out of state. So do it while you're still young. If it fails to work, there is always time to recover.
Did I read that right? You are only 28? Do you realize out of a 100 year life span if you get to live that long, is only around 25 percent of your life? You have quite a long time yet. I grew up in South Dakota and moved to AZ after college in my mid 20s. I have been here now over 20 years. I like many different areas around Phoenix - Scottsdale, Tempe, Glendale, Peoria, Fountain Hills, Paradise Valley especially, but I don't plan to live here forever. Many other interesting places I like.
$56k seems low, depending on experience. Would depend on cost of living
It sounds like you are not that interested in Florida so I would ask as someone else mentioned whether they will let you continue to work remotely. If not, then obviously look elsewhere for a different job.
