What would you say are the best in-house organizations to do PR for? I'm talking organizations that value PR as a partner and allows them to work strategically vs. rinse & repeat nothing press releases.

I've never worked for any of these, but I've heard amazing things about working for companies like Patagonia and some of the other outdoor retailers, and then companies like Spotify who are very of the moment. But I've mostly been in healthcare which ends up just being the rinse and repeat PR that you describe. I think some non-profits also really care about PR in a strategic way

For me, the best ones are related to non-profits. I’ve worked in spaces such as universities, think tanks, and global nonprofits, where PR plays a crucial role in shaping public trust. It’s layered, strategic work that involves a lot of different voices. But if you’re looking for a place where every story actually matters, it’s a great fit.

Should I take this role?
Pros: 50k bump, company is full remote, no time tracking software, unlimited PTO, 10k in quarterly bonuses, vertical move in responsibility and title, will set me up for future roles in different companies with the title I am looking for (so strategic move)

Cons: Its a startup, the solution they offer is adjacent to my desired industry, its a very small team so I wouldn’t grow my network as much, tech stipend for new laptop (but they don’t provide a work one)

Customers are giving us bad experience ratings because we don’t offer them the solutions they want. Our company won’t allow us to offer those solutions, but the manager punishes us for low ratings anyway. I don’t get how they’re ok with that.
