I guess it depends on your definition of a lot of money. I sell on eBay and Poshmark, which earns me anywhere between 500 and $2000 a month. I suppose that's not a lot of money. But it's a huge help when I'm struggling to pay rent and buy groceries. It is also something that's really fun to do and has become more of a hobby for me than just a way to earn additional money.

Wow that’s pretty good! What do you sell?
Similar to the above. I have a home gym and used to flip weights I found on Craigslist and FB Marketplace. I'd set alerts to notify me the second new sets of weight plates got listed, then I'd buy them, clean them up by soaking them in vinegar and relist for $100 or more over what I got them for. I haven't done it as much of late because I've been busy with other projects, but I probably made $10-$15k a year when I was doing it.

That’s smart!
I made bank working in a restaurant back in the day. I got paid really well in tips but it was such a crappy place to work. The owner of the restaurant was awful to work for.

I was a server once too and it was fun! But hours were tough, the only people I could hang out with were my restaurant friends
I flipped a rowing machine during the pandemic when exercise equipment was in demand. It had a 6-8 week waiting list. I bought it for like $800. It arrived on Black Friday. I listed it on Facebook marketplace and sold it for $300-400 profit, within 2-3 hours of it showing up on my front step. Meanwhile, I bought a used one for my personal use on Facebook marketplace and it’s still going strong 4 years later. Not a crappy side job, just a convenient opportunity to leverage supply and demand imbalance.
