I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Curious too
$300 to $500 ?
Signing bonuses in smaller markets at big law are never a guarantee. If you are relocating there, you may get a lump sum to help with relo that they consider a signing bonus. If you are local and making a lateral move, then generally you may see a signing bonus to help offset bonuses you may be walking away from (usually expect to split the difference...if you are walking away from 10k bonus earned, you could reasonably ask for 5k). I would say generally the most you would expect (with few exceptions) would be 5-10k. It also depends on what you are calling a smaller market. I have had a Denver firm offer a $40k signing bonus to get a good candidate. Denver is a mixed market where some forms pay cravath and some are way under market. Hope this helps!
