It’s not as revolutionary as people expected it to be. It’s not going to change gaming as we know it
But it is a solid Bethesda game. If that’s your thing, you will enjoy it and put hours and hours
I enjoy Bethesda games so I enjoy Starfield. There are some mechanics that definitely could be improved upon but overall I think it's a fun game.
I revise this. Really feels like the game wasn't thought out with various design flaws in several systems. I was bugged out of completing several quests and gave up on the side content. I went through the main quest which frankly feels like it's 7 quests long.
Overall very average game which would benefit immensely from QoL improvements and quest blocker bug fixes.
I finally played the game and it’s a cutscene space simulator…after reading these reviews I honestly had hopes for it but I’ve gotten to lv 10 and there’s just so much the game doesn’t let you do. The ui is brutal and other than taking my ship to pre determined locations and jumping through cutscenes it’s useless. Even when I’m in space I can’t fly it anywhere so just open map click on planet and hit jump or land.
Ngl I have an extremely high tolerance but by the time I was near endgame and nothing has changed I had no illusions about the game anymore. It's very average.
I’m enjoying it. Don’t understand the hate. If you love BGS games you’ll love Starfield
I’m digging it. Definitely agree it was overhyped by the gaming publications, but I’m enjoying it — the story and voice acting are solid and I really needed a deeper story driven space RPG that wasn’t a BR or something arcadey. At the very least I feel I got my moneys worth, something that can’t be said for any of the EA Sports games.
I was really excited about it, but after seeing initial reviews I've decided to wait for them to give it more polish.
In the meantime, I plan on playing Baldur's Gate 3 and, another game I put on hold for more polish, Cyberpunk 2077 - will start that after the expansion and big 2.0 update drops.
I've been enjoying Baldur's Gate 3 quite a bit. I was a fan of Divinity: Original Sin 2. Larian knocked it out of the park with this one.
I suppose I'll give Starfield a shot once I'm done with Baldur's Gate 3, there's just too many games to choose from so I'll have to be selective. BG3 will probably last me for quite some time.
I’ve heard the mechanics get very repetitive and the open world exploration isn’t what it was hyped up to be. Which is why I’m still on the fence
Rising Star
Not my type of game to be honest. Gave it a whirl and moved on.
I agree that if you like Bethesda games, then you'll love Starfield.
I just finished the first part of the main quest this weekend because I kept getting sidetracked on other quests. I've already got a solid 5 days in the game and am only level 31. There is so much you can do: spent hours customizing a ship, traveled star systems to survey planets, do side quests, join factions. So I'm loving the game.
I have ran into a few glitches, but as long as you save consistently, it shouldn't cause an issue. I have been able to correct any glitches with a quick reboot or a Google search on how to correct. I think a few glitches are to be expected in a game of this size.

Haven't gotten to it yet, still on baldurs gate
Spoiler alert!
I played it a lot and enjoyed it until I learned that it’s pretty much part of the story to do NG+ (and to maximize it, you have to do NG+ 10 times and grind leveling up the Starborne powers).
1. Grinding NG+ does not sound like fun
2. Any bases I build or quests I finish in my first play-through don’t carry over so they don’t really matter
So now I just stopped playing at all
