What's more important for business longevity?
Value your customer's needs or your employees sanity/ mental wellness?

The company I work for clearly value the customer more and I feel that it's not aligned to my personal values :(
It makes me wonder if I'm the "crazy" one to believe the company should value their people first?

Question is flawed. Both are important. However, the goal for all companies is to make money. Customers generate that. There are benefits to maintaining a happy workforce. Increase in productivity, higher retention etc. If your company doesn't value their employees, or treat you in that way, that means they don't care whether you're happy, just that you make money. If you don't, on to the next person. Not everyone wants to invest or knows how to invest into their own employees. Find a different job or speak with your leaders if you're looking for a correction on current behavior to something positive. Good luck.

I wasn't talking about what's moral. Wasn't even part of the conversation so not sure where "Well we don't need more evil companies" came from.

I agree with the other poster - the question isn’t mutually exclusive. Unfortunately a lot of companies act like it is - but there is absolutely a balance that can be struck between the two. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you feeling the balance is tipped in the wrong direction and maybe you should find somewhere that values you in the way you need as well.

Hello Everyone,

I need recommendation for a Project Manager role. I have about 4 + years experience managing projects and in consulting.

I am about concluding the google certificate in project management, and one unique think I bring into any team is my strategic thinking and ability to solve problems in record time.

I am based in Canada and a remote role will be great.

I anticipate your responses and recommendations thank you very much.

Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

I interviewed for KPMG on 11/15 for a Senior role and the HR emailed me on 11/16 that everyone liked me but they think I should be hired as an Experienced Associate. I had a call with the HR on 11/17 wherein we discussed about my salary expectations and the HR said he will get back in a day. It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?

I handleda very difficult and convoluted succession for a black family. My client was astute and intelligent. We got along great. His family was difficult. Willfully ignorant.

Part of the succession dealt with clawing back $450,000 in insurance proceeds that a niece fraudulent received from the decedent by making herself the beneficiary on policies. A separate attorney was hired to handle that part before I was hired to handle all other matters, including settling a $500,000 debt with the...

This is twice now in back to back weeks my boss has asked me where the disconnect was in our communications because I didn’t deliver on what “was asked”, even though I know damn well what was asked and what was done were the same thing. I’m not sure if he’s changing the meaning or isn’t communicating what he’s envisioning or what but it’s embarrassing to be called out like that, and to have people think you’re the dumb 23 year old.
