Transparency and flexibility are important, but they don’t pay my rent.
I think money is always #1 to some degree but flexibility and transparency get more heavily weighted as money goes up. When you’re at a lower pay grade, you’re not able to sacrifice any money for flexibility because you have to pay bills but once you are able to survive you start to think, is an extra 20k worth it to commute farther or be in the office 1 or 2 more days a week?
80k in the office > 60k fully remote but
160k in the office < 140k fully remote
Money will get me in the door, flexibility will keep me. If I’m not getting raises because they’re “so flexible” I will leave for that reason as well.
Rising Star
Accounting jobs both in PA and industry need to transition towards being more people-centric. We shouldn’t have to make trade offs between compensation, flexibility, and transparency. Instead, we are forced to compete with the third world which is degrading every aspect of the job

Money
Flexibility, money/benefits, transparency . I'm at a stage of life where I will accept less money to WFH FT vs in office requirements.
