What’s the biggest productivity killer in your typical workday? For me, it’s usually constant context switching between unrelated tasks. It feels like losing momentum over and over again. What’s the biggest distraction where you work?

Slack threads and DMs as a form of deep project discussion. The constant pointing makes it impossible to keep track of and you end up context switching all the time.

I miss the days where you check your emails in the morning and then once more at the close of day.

The rest was actual work being done or meetings that were time limited.

So true

Same for me

Not having a hard deadline

Great point!

My biggest distraction is one of the engineers at my workplace wanting to have a meeting WHILE I'm actively writing my daily mandatory, detailed report. I also have to submit a summary with the detailed report. They will ask me to verbally give all the details after reading the summary instead of reading the report. I don't know the details. It's too much to commit to memory. THAT'S WHY IT'S IN THE REPORT.

Advice when looking for Tech Consulting internships in Chicago or DC Metro? My GPA (3.04) has disqualified me from most major companies. I've opted to focus my efforts into my student organizations and helping others reach their goals, in doing this I compromised for a B average. Are there any firms that will accept recommendation letters with the application? The networking route is also something I am exploring, but haven't had much success thus far. Any help is welcome! Have a great day!
