What's the "coast" in coast FIRE mean?

It means you don't have to contribute further to your retirement accounts in order to have a normal retirement at a normal age. In that sense, you are "coasting" because the heavy lift of a normal retirement (which most people fail to do) is done. Any saving after you reach coastFIRE either increases your lifestyle in retirement or brings forward your retirement date.

Coast on your low salary while your earnings grow. Kinda like barista fire.

like

Yeah my understanding is barista fire you ~need~ to work some sort of job but it can be low paying and coast is you could spend 100% of your income and be fine retirement wise

It means you live at the beach

And there's a nearby wild fire. So I guess your beach is in Northern California or Australia.

I am a Senior Manager of Software Engineering and lead architect at a small company (was a startup with < 10 employees when I joined, now has > 50). I am the most senior technical person in the company (we don't have a CTO, I report to the COO), even though I only have 4.5 YOE. By God's grace I have been able to succeed in the role, but feel that I am underpaid and would like your input.

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?

Sorry for this post. I generally half heartedly listen to "I had a dream last night" stories. First off they are yours not mine and secondly the actions never actually happened.

With that let me tell you about my awesome dream last night 🤪🤪🤪

I dreamed that Corna was gone and I was able to go make a in-person sales call. It was magical.

Anyone have experience working in sales for a startup? What are things to consider? Got a recruiter contacting me about an open position very similar to what I do now, at a startup.

Those who are or have been AUSAs, what sort of letters of recommendation make the most impact on an application (outside of a former AUSA/judge etc..)? My issue is prior to my current firm doesn’t seem to value the AUSA experience, we have no former AUSA’s in my office and only a view in the whole firm nationwide (same goes for clerks), and I was a transactional associate at my first firm so don’t think anything anyone would have to say would be particularly interesting to a hiring panel...

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.
