Anyone have experience buying franchises or opening stores/businesses? Wondering how feasible it is to do this to move out of the rat race if you have the funds

I think there is a whole magazine you can buy about franchises. I saw it in a supermarket.

I’m currently in the process. Definitely a pricey and long term planning type idea. But it will get me out of the rat race. Have half a million laying around? Go for it.

like

What franchise are you buying?

Which ones are the most lucrative? Food? Hotel?

like

Entrepreneur magazine does a huge issue annually on franchises with rankings. Look for it.

What are we talking here? Opening a few Subways?

like

I am just opening up one in MA. Would definitely go for it but it is not a completely passive source of income. You need to be active otherwise you can lose money quickly if you rely on employees only.
Also, starting capital varies but you don’t require more than 100k to get into some of the growing franchisees which have a lot of upside.

What kind of franchise ?

Scores consider the number of accounts that are paid as agreed. Your score was impacted because the number of these accounts is too low, or because you've missed payments recently on some of your accounts.

I don’t get it why people post things like “I’m 28 and have a net worth of 2 million”… what is the purpose of posting and bragging about your net worth without and constructive comments or suggestions? Most wealthy people I know are very humble as mentioned in books like the Millionaire Next Door, but If you want to state how rich you are, then maybe at least give some comments or recommendations on how you achieved that wealth to help others do the same.

Open Enrollment Q:
Debating between High Deductible (for HSA) & PPO options.
My spouse has some expensive medications. Annual insurance allowed amount is ~$40K for us in 2021. Since we are currently on PPO, we only paid ~$500 out of pocket.
With a high deductible plan, we would pay ~ $7K out of pocket since HD Plan only pays 90% after the deductible. Is there anyone in similar situation? Does enrolling in a high deductible plan for HSA make sense in this case? Anyone in similar situation?
