What’s the latest on comp for associates in the Strategy/Process Improvement group at JPMorgan? Anyone gotten to the offer stage recently and willing to share?

As an alum OP, I don’t recommend it a lot, unless you really can’t take consulting anymore. Your hours will be shorter, but the no travel is a moot point for now. Also we are extremely stingy with comp, specially with raises (even promotion ones). Only come here if you can start as MD (exit as Partner) BCG is directionally correct

I am in a related strategy group and at the Associate levels my understanding is that it's all on the same pay scale. Anyways, I will make 170 this year and I am not in the NY market so I would imagine it gets adjusted up somewhat.

170 is not the same as 220... if you’re performing well at MBB. I’m assuming Associate at JP = Consultant at BCG

Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?

I’m considering a lateral move. New firm is offering a full bonus for pro-rated hours, which is nice but I doubt I’ll hit hours due to HR/admin onboarding work, ramp up, coming on in the middle of deals, etc. Any chance I can negotiate for a guaranteed bonus regardless of hours or is that unreasonable? I don’t want to annoy the new firm but I want to at least be made whole.

Am I overreacting? My former boss texted me last night asking if I would be able to work on a landing page project over the night. Pop Quiz - You have a large family with kids 7 and under. Family time is very important to you and you are financially stable (no mortgage/debt & solid savings). The ultimate goal is to save enough for the kids college, retire early, and travel. Do you choose a higher salary career that involves a lot of travel which takes you away from your family but gets you to your end goal sooner? Or do you take a lower salary career with minimal travel and flexibility to spend time with your family?
