In my sector, financial services (particularly Buy-Side) the opportunities for RPA are huge but organisations lack the overall business logic and e2e process coherence to achieve anything meaningful out of the implementations. So what I've seen is a few self-deployed implementations as pet projects to tick the box and say your cutting edge on "Digital". Smaller consulting shops have had some success implementing basic data retrieval and reconciliation using RPA but I'd argue that you should be using API's for that. Hope this helps.
Don't see much for RPA these days. I guess the economics are not there for the technology investment as a cost cutting exercise.
