Happy Weekend fellow dog lovers!

Mindtree culture is detoriating day by day . No clarity on hike and appraisal even though mail have been sent regarding this since Dec 2021 . Disgusting HR head practice who joined from CTS . How come they don't abide by what they communicate and keep silence without any update for delay .
Shameful . Feeling Disappointed. Has joined this company 11 months back with hopes for longer and fruitful association but will resign soon . Pathetic company Mindtree

I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

For non-tech, you will top out at $400K TC at Google too. Plus, getting L6 with that YOE will be challenging.

PM2: errmmm you’re so wrong.
Definitely mid 400s but agreed on the YOE side, on the lowest edge of the range and HMs have only gotten more picky.
L6 YOE is easily 10+ I’d say, but the MBA might help in lieu of the years

L5 usually requires +6/8YOE / L6 is usually in the +10/12YOE range. Exceptions usually apply to MBB candidates, and even then I’ve seen most tenured EMs land L6 S&O roles and APs sometimes L7 — depending on tenure, background and interview performance.
Getting up leveled is technically possible but unheard of. No interviewer is looking for L+1 signals.
L5. Depends on location too. 250-330k
Btw where are you at? Would love to see higher comp options outside of big tech

If your current tech role feels stagnant with limited potential for growth, an L6 offer at G could be a great lateral option for you
Yeah similar story here. I have clear path to L6 in a couple of years here, but the levels beyond is going to depend a lot on timing and luck.
