For me it's Niseko in Japan. Slopes are decently sized, snow is good, lift tickets are cheap and you can buy by half days or evening, runs open late, great food. Great hospitality and I love Onsen.
Unless you're talking about within Canada only. In which case I guess it'll just have to be Whistler. Just cause it's big and has a nice village and isn't far away from Vancouver.
I go grouse cause it’s the easiest to access if you don’t have a car
In Vancouver? Not that it's the best but we always go to Grouse Mountain for its reasonable prices.
Are we looking for advice on local hills? Whistler? Hills in the interior? A bit vague…
In terms of local hills, it’s kind of a tie between Cypress and Seymour. Cypress has a bus service from a few stops that works pretty well and their terrain both inbounds and out is reasonably good. It’s a fun place for dawn patrol laps if you have a car. Bonus points for networking on the skin track on deep days.
Seymour isn’t impressive at first glance. Get to know it and you’ll see why it’s great. The shuttle from the mall isn’t great but it works.
Literally everything about grouse sucks but it’s stupid easy to get to via transit if that’s a concern for you.
Whistler deserves its own thread and I’m not giving away my interior of BC intel easily.
Interested in seeing what other people say, I haven't found any that I loved!
