If you can avoid including a number do that. If you can't avoid putting in a number just make it realistic. If they screen you out based on your needs it's less of your time wasted.

Yeah true
When it comes to salary ranges, the upper part of the range is almost always out of reach. That would be for people with extensive experience and probably possessing some skillset that's in enormous demand. If you can get a potential employer to give a number, and try to negotiate up, you'll probably only get into trouble if you come off as unserious.
