When did LinkedIn turn into a performance review? Every post I see is a humblebrag disguised as a life lesson, or a manifesto about transformational leadership and cross-functional alignment. I just want to switch industries, not write a 12-part essay about how deeply I care about stakeholder storytelling. Is this what it takes now to get noticed? Anyone else totally burnt out by the idea of personal branding?

That isn't how people get jobs though. It's the same as it's always been— talent and experience, but also networking. Use LinkedIn to connect and have conversations with people who work in the area you'd like to pivot toward.

Follow me on LinkedIn. I only post about my island vacations lol.

Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice. Right now I’m currently facing a hard decision. I’ve been at my work for 5 months as an HR assistant and have been given the opportunity to take on the Executive Assistant role. I’m in my early 20’s and still unsure what career path I want to take. I know I want to keep moving up and doing more but again, not sure where I want to be. I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice from your experiences along with pros/cons on either position. Anything would help!

Long post alert; I have been interviewing with a b4 for a senior con role since Mar end. Cleared all the rounds including case study and got strong rating as well as good feedback. Fast forward to last week, the talent POC calls me up and informs that she has asked the business if the position is still open, because now they just need the business approval to roll out the offer. I immediately felt demotivated as to ‘why now’ after all rounds have been cleared (continued in the comment below)

I know there are a lot of factors and assumptions but just want to get a gauge / ballpark estimate from diff perspectives. (Looking for strategy and ops in big tech... for now... )

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.
