When Do Elimination JEs Reverse?

I am working with a client on intercompany financials, and we are noticing that balance sheet accounts that are marked for elimination result in an elimination journal entry that reverses in the following period. However, income statement accounts marked for elimination result in an elimination journal entry that does NOT reverse. Can anyone explain the reason for this behavior?

NFW- I just had a good laugh. First year: how long without a full ramp up before I should worry? I’m sub-250 hours since I started (3.5 months) and the firm/group are both busy. Other first years in my group are mixed. Today I received my provisional full and final settlement and the payable amount is negative -11454. They are recovering the full AMPB amount which I got from September months.
