When do we expect market firms to match the Milbank raises? I assume mine will but haven’t heard anything yet. And I’m losing one omakase meal per pay period…

Milbank’s don’t go into effect until July 1 so as long as your firm does it by July 15 (retro to July 1), you won’t miss any meal

And a lot of firms historically have given catch-up payments where a firm raises in a way that’s not easy to match on time

Milbank doesn’t set market. Cravath does. Wait and watch them.

Reminder that Milbank is in the V10 now exactly because they always raise first. Cravath follows Milbank at this point, although it partially re-raised last time to save face.

Firms are matching slowly but the rumor mill (here and otherwise) is saying that cravath could try to outdo Milbank. At this point, I can’t remember if they have previously done that. If that’s what happens, firms will all fall in line with cravath, presumably. Otherwise, they will all do the milbank bump, which is very small in terms of inflation raises (noting we all already make very high salaries).

They re-raised last time. And then there is the Susman question: will they match Milbank or Susman?
