Def recommended and it does not weird them out. Imo it gives the candidate a couple bonus points because I can see they did their homework.
Absolutely, I stalk everything from FB, IG, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google you name it
Looks like the fbi should hire the both if us then!!
Review it for sure to get an idea of what you’re dealing with, but don’t recite their profile verbatim during the interview and look like a stalker
Ohh yes. Would never do that. Just to see if we have common interests or went to the same school. It’s nice to have kind of a heads up.
100% you should be reviewing their profile. To make a good impression you should be well researched. I would honestly be surprised if a candidate did not review my profile.
The idea of an interview in 2020 is for fit. Do you fit the team, will you be a malcontent t? For the most part, your qualifications test you out of competence questions. Unless, that is, you’re talking about a junior position and there are skills tests. Either way, NO - it’s not frowned upon to view the LinkedIn profile of those you’re about to meet.
Thank you for the confirmation!!
That’s how I found out one of my interviewers golfed, connected on that and now I have a job :)
I find it weird when they don’t, to be honest
I agree with those above. You should definitely check out the social media of anyone you know you will be engaging with in the future, regardless if it’s an interview, or other types of meetings. This is common in most industries, and will not weird them out. If you are afraid of them knowing you checked out their profile, you can do it in stealth mode on LinkedIn. Downside is that if you leave your account in stealth mode, you also won’t be able to see who looks at your profile.
Absolutely review their profile. They want that
I have my LinkedIn profile link included in my resume and in my cover letter. It tips me off if I get a notification that "Employee X has reviewed your profile.'
