Probably yes, notice first thing on 3/25
Normally I’m firmly in the camp of giving 2 weeks, but unlimited PTO is a dumb policy.
Push new job out a week. From an insurance coverage standpoint, you might want to still be employed at your current employer on 4/1
Do what’s best for you. I would let them know the day before I leave for PTO.
So they can let you go immediately? Seems like terrible advice.
I'd tell them immediately, give a longer notice. Especially in positions where a transfer of knowledge is needed that is the better thing to do. You would in good faith be giving them additional time, and they in good faith should still pay your PTO. Unless of course this place is totally toxic, then give the notice when you come back, but that will leave a bad impression everywhere.
They are not paying out PTO. There are also lay offs this summer, including my whole team, so I'm just thinking about myself, don't care about bad impression at this point
