When you all take PTO, how often are you looking at your work and messages? I am on vacation in Hawaii and I woke up this morning to see that I had over 10 messages yesterday even though I'm set to OOO and have my auto-responses up. I don't really plan on responding to any of them but I'm also worried that will make me look bad.

When I am on PTO, I don't look at my work e-mail or IMs. If I am on a trip away from home, I won't take my work laptop. I don't have a work cell phone and I don't have my work email or Teams on my personal phone.

I put on my Auto Reply within my Outlook, and I also let my immediate team and manager know that I will be out of PTO between certain dates at least 2-3 weeks in advance. And in the week or two leading up to my PTO I will let the team know what I am expecting to come through during my PTO and if they need to do anything with it while I am out. Otherwise I will get to it after I return.

My exact thoughts…. I’m on PTO. It’s my time… I earned it… I know I’ve given back more than I take.. so when I’m in PTO, don’t bother me

I am trying to write a stock letter to send to parents everyday that their child does not come to virtual learning sessions. I have been told by administration that even though I have spoken to parents and know why students are not coming to zoom classes, that we still need to contact them everytime they dont come. For some of my students this is everyday due to parent work schedules and disability issues.
Is anyone else having this trouble? What are you saying to parents to cover yourself?

Hi background in audit and soc compliance now working for a non-public firm but delivering support to the auditors. Being that I am new I am still learning all the processes however cannot find a single process narrative. In order to better my experience performance I have attempted to find some type of structure.
Nothing is compliant…..

Would you send over a file for review with your name on it when told for job security or respect yourself and understand why first

What are some of the best consulting firms for digital strategy roles? Looking for a change and was wondering which of the T1/T2 firms have digital practices in Canada. I have applied to ATK and McK. BCG is working to establish their presence in Canada but their team is focused on establishing top down. Bain doesn’t have digital focus. Can anyone shed some light on other T2 firms?

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Hi all,
I graduated during Covid with a double major in business administration and business management with a minor in marketing and magically ended up in sales because I needed a job. I’m about to take a data analytics course to make an attempt to break into that field. I’m currently looking for a mentor to help guide me during this time. Also, if anyone is willing to look over my resume and give me tips on how to make it more presentable for recruiters in DA that would be very helpful. Thanks

I realized a slow pace at work is really bad for me. A couple years ago I was experiencing burn out from my fast paced job supporting transactions, and believed by moving to a slower job in a lower cost area, I would be sailing off to the sunset. Wrong, I spend weeks following up with other teams, often times they forgot what we discussed, so I spent 50% if the time reminding them of the topics and next steps. I spend most of my time writing memos no one will read.
