When you’ve received an in-house offer, how long do you typically have to respond?

One week. But you can be up front if you have other offers/a different timeline. Most places are flexible.

I had 3 days

That's standard in my experience. I recently had one offer come in and was expecting another offer the next day. I was able to push company 1 off for three days. Any longer than that and they would have gone to their next choice candidate. A recruiter helped me get my current job and he said that 3 days is standard, max one week if you're lucky.

One week seems pretty standard, maybe two

I got three offers during my search. One gave me 10 days, one didn't explicitly specify but the impression I got was they needed an answer in about 1 week. The third knew that I had competing offers and was aiming to be the cool, WLB option - they gave me a three week window.

Usually a week or little less. This isn’t like private practice at firms where they’ll give you up to two weeks when you were in law school.

Certainly there is absolutely nothing that can be done about this!

Currently working on a three person team in a larger GC group. I lateraled from a different group that did not pay attorneys on an attorney scale. I’m stuck in my old pay scale but have gotten promotions and raises quickly with more on the horizon. A recruiter reached out with a new role for 2-2.5x more than I currently make doing something similar. I love my company and the people I work with but the money isn’t there. Is it worth trying to get a counter to stay if I get the bigger offer?

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
Thanks for any help!

So, this is a little awkward, but I recently moved to SD for a fresh start, and honestly, I love this city. My problem is I have been more of a homebody since I moved here and I'm a little intimidated to go out and meet people because I don't feel like I fit in here. I am overweight and this city is full of active, and attractive people. I guess I am wondering what my experience would be if I got out more? I feel like people look at me when I'm in public because I stand out due to my size.

I used to be a happy guy, then over the past 5 years of being in public accounting I’ve gradually turned super cynical and hopeless. WFH has definitely added fuel to the fire because I’m super outgoing and vibe off of others. I’ve been actively looking for a new role but nothing good has come up for 6ish months. Any tips on how to get through the rest of busy season? I’m really struggling... to the point of almost crying daily. I told my manager and the firm doesn’t give AF apparently.

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Would you (1) early on clearly state that you’re not open to relocation but that you would be open to visiting a big office once or twice a month; (2) not say anything now and wait to get an offer and ask for an exemption; or (3) something else?
