Building out private investment platform for a growing company. Where can I find example docs of allocation policies, expense policies, etc. in order to create my own? Are there any good resources?

For the past 2-3 years, I have obsessively tracked my net worth/income trends/investment performance over time. I checked my trends just now, and OMG I hit the 300k net worth mark right around Christmas. I guess I haven’t looked at my dashboard for a month. This feels so cool. I want to shout it from the roof! Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?

Feedback needed. Given the current influx of interest rates and looming economic decline. Is it wise to purchase two new rental properties one a fixer upper in a thriving town, and the other needs minor fixes in a growing community. Both prop may have tenants that have had rental payments delinquencies in the past…. Part of the agreement is to remove all tenants.

I'm a Canadian on the TN visa working in the US and planning on maxing my Roth IRA (6k) and will have enough left to max my 401k this year, but am not sure if I should just use a taxable account over 401k due to tax considerations when I move back to Canada (likely 1-2 years from now). Any thoughts here? I don't think I'll have enough RRSP room to move 401k>IRA>RRSP and I would prefer to not have to file US taxes every year in retirement for withdrawls if I left the 401k in the US.

Single and childless but would like kids. High income and maxing out all tax advantaged accounts I can but was thinking of starting a 529 in my own name to be transferred to future kids. If I don’t have kids maybe transfer it to my nephew. Thoughts, pros, cons?

Super risky play: If you have day trades available, I suggest buying 250 3/20 calls at open and selling right around 11:30 when trump speaks. So far every time there is a conference we see a pump.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
