Looking to lateral to another firm. I’m a 3rd year at a mid size firm. Any advice/insight on what a firm requires when applying/interviewing. I’m concerned about law school grades as I was around 3.2 gpa, but I have a ton of litigation experience running cases the last three years. Any insight appreciated.
I've been solitary all my life - no friends and no girlfriends and have been perfectly with the kind of boring lifestyle I live. For additional context, Indian born but raised since I was 3 in the US by traditional parents. I've recently been getting, for lack of a better term in English, "marriage interview" requests from the parents of others also raised in the US. Throwing Mr. Solitary into the fastest version of speed dating possible seems like a recipe for disaster. Any advice?
What does a writing sample for a transactional position look like (applying to lateral)?
My friend is graduating college with a 2.8 GPA. Trying to help with his job search--what's a good way to damage control in interviews?
For those of you that left or interviewed for a program manager position in tech (faang or non-faang), what TC were you offered? Trying to evaluate an offer.
Is it normal for a big4 to take over two months in the interview process? Since end of January I've had five interviews w team members, including with the partner who leads the practice I'd be joining. Still no word. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback with the in-house recruiter I'm working with. Is this normal? Client base would be asset managers & PE firms.
Thank you notes after an interview with ECD / GCD / whoever the final decision maker is - are these done still? Haven't interviewed in a long time and unsure of it's still important (I'm freelance).
Interviewing for Deloitte S&A consultant. Currently at small boutique and overwhelmed at the work possibilities within that group. Do you agree to a practice line within it if hired? Or is it even determined during the interview process? Thank you.
Just f$&k up so bad in my Meta interview today. Want to kill myself after realizing I made so many simple mistakes in the case. 🥲🥲🥲
Just got fired from RSM. I have a final interview tomorrow, do I have to disclose this information to my new employer?
Anyone feel like it's been a lot harder applying as an Asian American male this cycle? Grew up in a poor SEA immigrant household and seems like the odds were just stacked against me
In need of a gut check: I lateraled a year and a half ago to move to a location closer to my husband’s parents. I loved my old firm and was given good opportunities and was extremely cautious about lateraling, so I asked many questions during my interviews, including whether associates made their hours. I was assured they always did. Day 1 at the new job starts and it turns out I was hired with another associate for the same position. I can now go weeks at a time with just a few hours of work.
Did anyone get accepted to Ross last year and not be contacted by a current student post interview?
Does anyone have any insight into Goldman Sachs’ early career programs? I’m thinking about applying but I’m worried the WLB won’t be any better
How important are cover letters? I’ve started applying to some jobs but haven’t bothered with any cover letters since I’m not in a rush to leave/have been lazy. What prompted this is a position at Apple where I have very qualified experience.

Do you think post-covid that companies will ever keep their tech employees in NYC? I’m a software engineer for a financial company and already am probably one of the last people to RTO if/when that happens. But now I’m thinking that this situation has proven that they don’t need to take on the costs of having SWEs in a HCOL city if all of us can WFH/work from a LCOL city with same results. Kinda bummed bc I’m a new hire and I never even got to move there... should I lower my expectations?

Got a situation here. Signed an offer from Deloitte (I counter offered, they approved it), and just told my PwC partner that I received an offer from a competitor. PwC offered me a thiccc retention bonus that is hard to reject. What would happen if I tell Deloitte that PwC offered me this and I choose to stay? Any implications since I signed my offer letter already?

People in tax: what can I expect for a salary as a first year senior? Any current seniors want to spill their salaries?
Is investment banking really that pathetic as a career? Thinking of getting into IB. I have 1 year in tech consulting, and 1 year in strategy consulting. I’ve been working with financial services and automotive clients. It seems easier to break into EB IB than MBB, and my goal is to exit into PE, preferably without getting a top MBA. Is it worth getting my wlb hit for 1-2 years?
If there is a PM role at FAANG vs a consulting role at MBB for ppl out of undergrad, which one would you take and why? Not that I have such privilege now but just curious

Planning to take a new job at Accenture but have some vacations planned (likely before I will have accrued enough pto). Anyone know the policy on that?
Considering exiting my first consulting team for a lateral into a smaller firm/practice (boutique to boutique): same work, same city, +20% raise. What were some of the questions that helped get others off the fence when considering making the first jump? Love both teams, long-term trajectory is very similar - but, it seems like I simply have to jump to get an add-on raise. Appreciate any insight folks have.
Who has the link to the comp survey??
Slalom peeps - what can I expect from a Slalom case study interview in OE space? difficult, more convo based, etc.? How technical is it? Thanks for any guidance!
I will be applying for a Data Modeling Senior Associate position at a Big Four firm. It seems a bulk of the role would be doing statistical risk analysis for credit risk in the auto industry. Contd
