I have an iPhone but I still think trade wars are dumb. Oh, and most iPhones are made by Foxxcon, a Taiwanese company with factories in China. So let's assume they'll be hit with the new tariffs as well because they're sure as $hit aren't made in the us of a.

We are not entitled to other people's money. A lot of countries are impacted by American foreign policy. If they want to vote with their dollar/pound/euro/yen or whatever, that's up to them. It's a free market. They are not compelled to buy American.

But honestly? You should not be surprised that an ally feels betrayed that our guy plans to tank their economy. Even the WSJ called it "the dumbest trade war in history". Because if you are clutching your pearls now, it will be a long four years for you, my friend.

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.

Hi all, need some help in approaching this: So I was interviewing for a specific role and finished final rounds. However, the head of the dept wants to pitch me for another role that he thinks I’m a better fit for although for the previous role interview, it’s positive outcome too. I’m more interested in the prior role. How do I go about expressing that?

I had the interview and task 3 weeks ago. Do you guys think that I still have a chance?

How do you keep up/in touch with your network? Mine barely post anything on LinkedIn, so commenting on their posts is out of the question, and apparently it's impolite to just message or email them if the job searcher doesn't have anything to share besides asking for a referral or opening. If I don't have any relevant information to share with them, what should I do?

There really is such a direct correlation between cringey title and cringey posts.

Before LinkedIn...to me, the king of professional cringey was Shingy. Do you guys remember him? He was aol's overpaid "digital prophet" and got paid to visit companies at lunchtime and babble the same kind of nonsense we now call "LinkedIn cringe".

Biggest cringe for me has got to be when people include “ex-<company name>” in their title… see it for loads of the big 4 firms and I’m thinking wow you must love slave drivers that underappreciate you 🤣

Does anyone else feel that the more content someone puts in their LinkedIn headline, the more full of it they are? I say this as someone with a bunch of stuff lol but at least it’s all at one company and accurate.

I’m talking mostly about two kinds of people. 1. The influencer who is actually unemployed, but lists 25 BS things they do
2. The brand collector, who writes “ex-“ for every former company they worked at and school they went to. Maybe less full of it but still insufferable.
