I think I'm one of the rare few who joined to "serve my country". The SGT at MEPs laughed at me when I gave him that reason and I was kind of offended at the time. I understand now why he thought it was kind of funny. Nevertheless, I did my time and I'm proud of it even if my experience wasn't that great.
I just wanted to be in Military. My father is a businessman and my mother is a veterinarian No one in the family is related to military service as a profession. I wanted to make a difference and I have passion with guns and combat. I do martial arts and Jujitsu during my Junior High School.
My dad did the most. He was the one that encouraged me to go into the military.
I was at a really bad spot in my life, no friends, doing poorly in college, no gf, living in a crappy basement of a house. I joined the guard as a way to get some cash and do something fun on the side. And that's the start of my profession.
I joined because I was sick of working overnight security, and wanted to get some job skills and experience so that I could move on to better work in law enforcement. So I spent 4 years as an AF cop, and took a lot of college classes toward a CJ degree (sitting at about 104 credits).
My grandfather. He is respected in my hometown because of his deeds. I want to continue his legacy by serving the people.
Hmm. No one really inspired me. I think it's safe to say that it's been a childhood dream of mine.
