Why are companies hiring processes so slow? I’ve been looking for a few months, and every company wants 3-4 rounds of interviews for a manager role that ends up stretching for 4-6+ weeks. And this is for supposedly hard to fill roles that my background is a perfect match for.

Any companies pulling back on recruiting or freezing hiring altogether?

1st yr at a nyc v50 firm doing general transactional work. I know the lateral market for transactional lawyers is hot but not as hot for juniors. I just want a change of scenery because my current firm is bleeding good associates / not giving great training imo / and just seems small. Would lateralling this early feasible?
