It's much harder to justify middle management when everybody just gets their work done, in my opinion. Also, all those office buildings they paid a ton of money for just sitting there empty probably make the executives feel silly.
Above comment pretty much nailed it. It's not a productivity issue, that's for sure. I got way more done when I was WFH and overall productivity did not suffer one bit.
Because they can’t use their charisma effectively to push their agenda on everyone when we’re all remote. Leaders thrive on an audience. If everyone works remotely you just pull the rug out from under them. It’s the great equalizer. And that’s why they hate it.
