If all of T1 cities put the taxation pressure on the billionaires then they will have nowhere to run. If ZM is making them shit their pants, then that’s exactly what regular Americans should want
If a small handful don’t want to tax that’s fine, the issue will get forced eventually as states and the fed gov start running out of money to pay for social programs we don’t seem to want to cut. Don’t tax the rich but also don’t cut social security/Medicare is just delulu. Jobs + property tax is not enough to make up for lost income tax. Eventually the average American will turn towards much more radical economic policy when they realize the current path just leads them to nowhere. You can only distract with identity politics for so long before people realize they still can’t put food on the table
Citadel may have a couple hundred employees in Florida but the top new talent they need comes from the biggest cities
Miami is closer to Virginia where all the finance & global data center/fiber connections are
