I can't really say it was a conscious decision. Took a call center job that was for an insurance company. One job led to another. I didn't care about industry, was just looking for stability.
Same! I used to work in a school and needed a change of scenery. Now I’m stuck here! 🤣
Nobody chooses insurance. We fall into insurance and some of us found amazing careers here.
It chose me.😁
Took a call center job at Progressive after loosing my previous call center job. The job with Progressive just happen to be claims job that trained and provided me with my license. Almost 12 years later, I’m still in claims. Don’t love it but I guess it could be worse.
I applied at libidy bibady!
Started out in underwriting because I had a connection who referred me (had no idea what I wanted to do after college so it seemed like the best option). Best decision I ever made. I know insurance isn’t the most attractive industry with the most stellar reputation for new, bright-eyed grads, but IMO it’s the best out there. I’m not longer an underwriter, but still in the industry and will be for the rest of my career. Love what I do!
Hey there! I’m now on the brokerage side (a unique role, but more client relationship management than sales).
I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I had stopped going to college and was slapping dough as an assistant manager for Papa Johns. I had a high school buddy that started an independent agency from scratch at the end of ‘06. I was in sales and taking service calls.
Things didnt seem to be going anywhere at my friends small agency so I tried my hand at mortgage sales starting in 2015.
Turns out I wasn’t cut out for sales so I found my way back to insurance taking calls at USAA. Did that for a year and got a gig in property underwriting. Seems to be my thing.
