Why do freshers always Crave for a Client Facing job instead of a job that teaches them the most ?

Both backend/ front end jobs teach you a lot.. it's up to what you want to pursue.

Client facing jobs teach a lot, hard skills as well as soft skills and presentation skills, which are important for personal progress, promotion and career progress long term.

For example, I’ve interacted with 40+ CEOs in just 6 months and learnt a lot about my personality, leadership style and presentation skills. I’d have not been able to do all these things had I not been in a client facing role.

When the IRS (e.g., a RO/AO/Examiner) calls or writes a letter… How do you verify that it’s really the IRS and not a scam? I’m new to tax law and I’m worried that I’m going to respond to/answer a scam and give away client info (or my own tax preparer info). I don’t think my worry is unfounded due to the tremendous amount of tax/IRS scam out there but it would be nice to hear from some of y’all so that I’m not so worried about it…

Is Operations paid the least at your respective firms? I was hired to a Client Service Delivery role with a heavy focus on project management. I regularly interface with leadership internally and at the client. But, I am aligned to the “Operations” capability and make the least of my teammates who perform seemingly identical work but are aligned to “Strategy and Consulting.” I worry I’m on a career path to being paid the least wherever I go, because Operations is in my title and background.

I think this generation has finally understood that it's not worth preparing for govt jobs like UPSC, RBI, SEBI, SSC job, even state PCS.

Earlier they used to sacrifice important 3-4-5 yrs for such jobs but now people want to work more in Corporate rather than wasting their lives for such govt jobs which doesn't even have any significant future as compared to an IT job.

Is this true or people are still running after these govt jobs? I can see the mindset shift from Govt to Corporate jobs.
