I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

May be you can evaluate in the following manner - NZD is one of the most difficult country to migrate and then culturally integrate. But once done, it done.
If you plan to have another kid or no. Social safety and security.
Tomorrow you may not get another chance as easily to move to NZ but Bangalore will always be there. If not 45 then may be 40 or 38. Net of taxes and retirement benefits - in hand differential wont be more than 30-40k after a year.
So just explore NZ option without high expectation !!
Thank you for this perspective. Another challenge we foresee is the longevity of visa- we don’t know the state of visa after 3 years. If things don’t work out and we have to come back won’t it be more difficult to find a job here (considering the gap in India experience)
45 lpa in Bangalore
Banglore without a doubt
Bangalore... Bigger, better and much more things to enjoy life...and your package is neat !!
New Zealand ranked in the Bottom 10 of the "Best and Worst places for Expats" in the recent Expat Insider 2022 survey report, where 11,970 respondents representing 177 nationalities and living in 181 countries or territories worldwide were asked to evaluate their life abroad.
New Zealand is a beautiful place to visit in my eyes. Not something that should now be considered to settle down.
And with your current offer CTC, you'd be able to afford a much better lifestyle here compared to NZ.
India bro. With family of 3, son about to start schooling , and unsurety of visa after 3 years...India is good gor you.
