Pros and cons of working in Human Capital Consulting for Deloitte GPS? (Government and Public Sectors) How are the exit ops?
Am I underpaid? Analytics Sr. Consultant (semi-technical role) w/ 8 YOE, age 31 - Austin, Tx. With Finance BA and Econ MA from mediocre University. Salary-$90k, no bonus/stock/etc.
Comp insights for the role at EY: "Advisory Services, Financial Services, Performance Improvement, Capital Markets, Senior" Location: NY, YOE: 4 Thanks in advance!
I have only had male mentors and I really wish I had a female role model to look up to in this field. Any advice for how to network and find a good female mentor? Im up for promotion to manager this year and I want to leave the firm after. I don’t know where to start and I lack the confidence and network needed to change careers. Any useful advice? Thank you!!
Has anyone ever considered doing Equity Research? If my interests are healthcare and life sciences, would ER with a focus on this industry lead to better exit opportunities than consulting in this space?
I’m documenting updates my manager provides every week in my PIP document and at the end of the month he says his feedback isn’t captured accurately. What’s the best way to deal with this? Don’t want to get fired and think I’m doing much better than other people in my role
I see a fundamental issue with consultant salary/role expectations when exiting. What do you expect when exiting MBB after 3, 5, 7 years post MBA? What's your target (VC, IB, FAANG etc.)?
Hi fishies 🐠 I’m an Art Director that’s trying to transition over to UX Design. I have experience building websites and some previous freelance work doing some UI/UX. What’s the best route to transition over and would I need to apply for entry level roles? Does an AD role with a UI/UX focus even exist? I enjoy the thinking of UX design and am comfortable designing interfaces but I’m mostly unsure of the process of working with an UX team. Would love to hear your thoughts!
If your offer is significantly more than you expected, should you negotiate? I’ll be working very closely with the hiring manager, so I don’t want to be setting myself up for failure once I start
Does anyone have insights into the Bad Actor Disincentive team at Amazon? Quality of people, team culture, WLB, perception about the team within the firm, etc. BA role.
Hey all! I was told I might get help here! I got an offer at a mid pharma for a strategy role that I’m intending to take. Partner is threatening to sue because the job offer is from a direct client that I work with. I’ve received legal counsel and have no apparent liabilities in any of my or my clients contracts (non-compete, non-solicitation, etc.). Unfortunately, that doesn’t prevent me from getting sued because I still have to defend it. Has anyone else ever been in a similar situation?
Any gov consulting firms actively hiring in dc? I have a buddy who just graduated with his MBA but didn't go through consulting recruitment. Veteran + worked on the hill. Fishbowlburnerdallas@gmail.com
Exiting the firm... How much ahead of time should I give a notice? (Would like to leave asap) What’s the exit interview process?

Can anyone give insight to typical hiring process for Microsoft corporate functions, specifically for an HR Program Manager role? Salary ranges would be extremely helpful as well!
I’m burnt out on taxes; I wanted to do 10 returns a year, if that. Looking at an accounting manager position with KPMG, from the job description, looks like just accounting and financial reporting. Does anyone know if that is true. Also, how’s the culture at KPMG? Looking in the STL area.
I have an offer for a senior associate role at a $1B private equity. Currently a manager though, so a downgrade. Getting pay rise. Pros and cons of losing title?
Made M recently. Total 10 YOE industry (7) and consulting (3) combined. Based out of MCOL city. Found a Directory level exit opportunity that pays 200k base (20% increase over current) but requires me to relocate to a HCOL city. I'm not sure whether to bite. Company isn't all that sexy and I like where I live but the JD looks like it was written for me. If it was a job that I wouldn't need to relocate for, I might just take it. Does it make good career sense to take it? Got a family too.
As an SM making $185k, what should I aim for as an exit? I got a $200k offer with better wlb and no travel but also no stock and low 401k. wondering if I I should set my sights higher.
Heartwarming diversity on display at the DNC! From Republicans to Democrats, representation from all races - even Northern Marinara Islands got a shout out. Go Joe & Kamala!
Going through one of the phases where I’m hanging on by a thread (and I’m not even frequently traveling right now!!), ugh. Preschool parent visits, rsvps to birthdays and school events...
Drinking seems to be built into big law atmosphere/ central to networking. Any tips or lessons learned?
Wild that conservatives think they're on the right side of history after supporting officials who let tens of thousands die needlessly and will now try to take away people's healthcare.
“This global pandemic is exactly what our industry needed.” Okay...now repeat this exact phrase to the hundreds already laid off and all the ones to come. 🤯 https://www.campaignlive.com/article/took-global-pandemic-draw-line-sand-adland-sorely-needed/1678340
Are there any married couples working at two different big 4 firms? How did you make sure your finances were compliant with both?
Lady 🐠 - need advice on recruiting. Been networking very heavily with a company over the last few months. Had an face to face interview with hiring manager a week ago...
I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
Interviewing for a role at BP, what are they like as a firm to work at? It’d be the commercial/strategy side of the business rather than production. I understand they went thru a major re-org to be relevant for the future energy industry. How’s that going?
Potentially have an offer from a local tech startup. I’m 24, currently make ~$95K base and ~$50K, with an additional ~$20K in profit sharing (so total comp around $160-170K). Offer would likely (cont)
My lifetime status years for Marriott, haven’t been updated as of Jan 1st. Is this the case with most 🐟’s? Wondering if I should talk to a customer service representative!

Is wanting to receive my year end bonus from Deloitte a valid reason for pushing back start date for another job?
Survey: How much of a pay cut would you be willing to take to not travel at all, work 40-50 hr weeks M-F (no weekends). Post your current salary and what you would be willing to take. Be honest :)
