Why do the Delta Challenge if none of my flights ever count? Anyone else have this problem? Taken 7 round trip flights, only two have counted toward the challenge

Just finished my degree in managerial science and have a minor in marketing and a Sales certificate. Have had 4 different management jobs. Just accepted an opportunity as a district manager for an Insurance company. Not 100% sure about Commission-based only. Would love to manage in the sales world, and would love to travel on a weekly basis. Any advice or am I aiming for something unrealistic at the moment?
