Yep. I’d send client an email (defensive practice) saying “Got the change. Thanks. This has been a negotiated point and the other side has firmly rejected what you’re proposing. If you want me to propose the change I will but I’m concerned that the other side might see this as retrading a material term and blow up the deal. Is this issue important enough to you to take that risk?” Then do what the client wants. It’s the client’s deal.
