Has anyone ever worked out of a co-working space? Did you like it / did you get any social interaction out of it? I’m in a 100% remote role & the isolation is driving me crazy. (My team does everything via email or IM - phone & video calls are super rare) I’ve been considering working from a co-working space 1-2 days a week, but it’s so expensive I’d like to get some first-hand reviews first. Thanks!

I have the last 6 weeks or so. I find the other people mostly an annoyance and don’t really feel any less isolated. 😕

With that said, I’ll probably be here for a while until I get a small private office. I live in a small town and like leaving the house to walk to work, get coffee on the way, etc. It makes me feel a bit more engaged with my community.

I think it depends on the space - my sister-in-law managed one pre-covid that had a lot of socializing events ranging from bagels in the morning to full blown parties, all specifically meant to help the people working there socialize and feel less isolated. She said most people who worked there attended and there was a really healthy camaraderie. Unfortunately, this has probably stopped due to COVID, but it might be worth while to ask some of the places you’re looking at whether they do anything like that, if it’s paused for COVID, etc.

Have you run this idea by your firm? I could see them having privacy and security concerns depending on the set-up.

Not yet - I would before I pulled the trigger on anything though. I’m still in the information gathering phase.

I am in the same situation and am considering joining one

If anyone knows of good ones in LA, love to hear about it (besides Soho House)

I don't like my job, the responsibilities and tasks aren't right for me or my lifestyle.

Key positives for my current employer are pay and security. But my new role within the company isn't working for me, and ultimately I don't think it is for the company either.

A much much smaller (20 people) company offered me a role.

With the global economic situation as is, is it worth the risk to change to a job I know i'd like more with less pay, and potentially less job security?
