Two successive far-left and inept mayorships the city’s electorate keep forcing on us might have something to do with it.
R1 you don't make any sense
Simple. We keep spending more every year with out keeping track of where it goes. Same as if you are given a credit card and don’t bother to ever think about or look at the bill. It adds up fast when you aren’t paying attention.
None of you have been paying attention if you’ve lived here for 30 years and this is what you believe. Daley was a good mayor in many regards but he drove the city deep into debt with large infrastructure projects, while opening 200 new schools if you count charters. They set up TIFs which took tax money from the south and west sides to build downtown with the theory that is we have a thriving downtown, development will spread to the south and west. Except it didn’t spread as fast as they needed, and eventually people on the south and west sides got tired of their taxes being diverted into TIFs used in the downtown and to support private development and they voted for people who promised to change it. Except they can’t because the city has been in debt since long before them, and Rahm screwed up closing schools because he was too forceful and didn’t build consensus, so now we can’t even do that despite some high schools having fewer than 100 students enrolled. You can blame the far left mayors but the problems started with the moderate democratic mayors.
A lot of these are just bots. They usually will increase in activity especially before elections.
Since there's a lot of dark money pumped into this election season, expect more of these sort of posts to flourish
The real estate market is as hot as ever. There’s virtually no vacancy on any of the retail stretches of the north side. The city has always been crumbling financially since I’ve lived here.
Rising Star
The ultra-rich have still gotten richer. That’s about it.
Because a alarming large percentage of the population is held up by a small percentage of high performers
You know what we do with high performers at work? Reward them with more work!
