I consider Chicago more of a “capital”
of the Midwest. And also more expensive than many of the other small-to-medium size cities in the region.
Yeah SD agency pay is kind of a joke.
It’s because San Diego is an awesome place to live with the best weather in the country. The cost of living there is insane. At least in the Bay Area, the wages are high enough to be able to afford the insane rent.
I once had a marketing professor who warned us of the “sunshine tax” in San Diego. I think it’s a combination of things though, including that yes, people do take those jobs, because demand for jobs outweighs supply of available roles
