When I review resumes, longevity in past roles is one of the things I look for. Why should I go through the expense, effort and mentoring of someone that has a track record of leaving in less than a year.
I would rather hire someone that is underskilled, but is dedicated. As a manager I need to rely on my team, I need a team that is committed.
People say that the millennials an newer generations are job movers and move across roles blah blah frequently. Reality is a lot of the hiring is done by the older generations who definitely view frequent job moves as unfavorable and lack of commitment / flaky. Exception is probably in big tech.
One or two short stints is fine. After that I would see it as a red flag as a hiring manager
