I have had interviews with 5 companies/agencies in the last two months after nothing for months. I made it to 2-3 round on all of them. They all went well and said I’ll be hearing back yadda yadda. No offers and had 4 ghosts with only 1 company saying they hired someone else. It is insane. And I love my daily dose of rejection emails early in the morning.
Keep pushing. Same things happened to me before landing. Getting to finals means you also know how to interview. Soft skills still matter. Especially, today when everyone’s resume or portfolio has the same type of work. Good luck
June-Sept was totally dry with no serious jobs to even apply to. Seeing a few pop up now. As ever, referrals are the only way in.
reach out directly to hiring managers. find ppl on linkedin who repost job postings. just reach out directly to recruiters also
it’s a volumes game
Sounds weird. But the last three remote contract all came to me via a LinkedIn dm with the job posting not advertised. However. All the roles I applied to I got rejected. Impress the recruiter & they will help advocate for you & your experience. I also had an interview prep for all three roles as well. 2 were only 6 months. This one Is 12. If it turns into perm the hiring manager already gave me a title that has a great salary range. I’ve got a good track record with seeing contract roles turn FTE.
